Double Page Spread
I found it quite hard and struggled with thinking of my article and what to right about, I'd chosen the talent tour, and the idea behind it, as I'd already gathered the pictures fore the magazine. But I wasn't sure on the actually story I could create behind it, so once I'd designed how I wanted the page I added together the information about the talent tour, and basically wrote my idea that I came up with for the magazine. Im more pleased with the design for the double page, then the other pages, because although its fairly simplistic I like how the text compliments the image beneath it. And how the font and colours work so well together. Again adding in a pink line down the page, as part of the existing theme of the magazine. This page i'm genuinely pleased about, and I also like how the article managed to come together, showing what the magazine is all about.
Contents Page
This was one of the harder pages to produce, and I feel like if I went back and started again then I could definitely do it differently and produce something better. This is quite a simple page, and general design. It sticks to the conventions and themes of the magazine, with the font, the colours, the pink lines that are blocking it and the Main picture at the bottom. But every-time I see this contents page, I cant help think like its empty. I've gone back to it, and changed it quite a lot, and it is different to the original design I had created for the contents page, but I still feel like it could be changed and it could be made a lot better.
Music magazine Front cover
After creating many titles for the cover, I finally stuck with this one, which sets the colour scheme straight away, but isn't to over the top for the heading.
By using that image for half the page I find it helps the magazine space out more, without making it look as if its all in blocks and columns like a newspaper. And enables me to put a central tagline over the top of the image, making the head article spring to someone's attention as well as the picture.
Throughout the magazine i've used the pink lines as a borderline effect, to piece the text together properly and avoid confusion with the articles, and aims of the magazine.
The only thing I'd change if I had time to go over it and re-design is the white in the corner, I feel it stands out more and might not fit it properly with the rest of the magazine. As white isn't an ongoing theme or colour.

Music mag logo's
We started to create the logo's and tittles for our music magazines in class, working with InDesign and Photoshop, first creating the tittle and what type of fonts and colours we wanted to use, then after selecting over the text and moving it into photoshop, were I created the logo and the final outcomes of the tittle. I chose the name 'Up&Coming' as the magazine is targeting up and coming rock/metal bands around the UK for help with getting there name and there music out there. After a few attempts I think I've created the final piece which will probably be this one, unless I can make a more suitable one for the genre of my magazine. I feel the colour schemes, and the font is suitable just not so sure about the added detail.

This one was the first one I created but I cant use it as it doesn't fit the genre or the style of the magazine i want to create. But this took allot of work in photoshop, using the paintbrush tool, and the different effects like drop shadow, inner shadow and stokes. I was pleased with this outcome and i think the detail and colours work well together is just a shame it wont work with the style I need.

This one was another practise for my final outcome, I was more just experimenting with the different types of brushes and are available. But in the end I still wasn't happy with this outcome its along the lines of what I wanted to accomplish but I don't think it fits the criteria for the right style either!

i know the band i want to photograph have covered this song,
i like the ongoing themes throughout, and the powerful lighting behind the band, making them stand out,
fall out boy have a different approach to creating the video, with the bad members all of the place, and loads of different things going on at once, i think because of the genre of the magazine the layout should be out there, like most of the video's.

i like the theme of water in this video, especially with the gun at the beginning of the video i think this might have to be apart of the logo for the tittle of my magazine.
And as its about new artists, there can be features of the legends that have inspired them.

feature on the biggest rock festival DOWNLOAD.
always in June, and will be a good cover line and story to put into the magazine, and also automatically makes it appealing to anyone interested in metal and rock, as they'd know about download.

Themes/logos and images around the home page, that is recognisable as the download festival

mainstream band that broke up on hiatus for years, and are getting back together and headlining download, very popular well known band in metal history.
Color schemes they use in this video, the green lighting throughout, with the bold colours like the red of the bird.
Red bird also another idea for the logo of my magazine, along with the gun from the Nirvana video.
